D&D 5e
Dungeon of the Mad Mage
Campaign Description
Introduction
The Greatest Dungeon of Them All
In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mage dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, and mysteries—to what end is a constant source of speculation and concern.
This adventure picks up where Waterdeep: Dragon Heist leaves off, taking characters of 5th level or higher all the way to 20th level should they explore the entirety of Halaster’s home. Twenty-three levels of Undermountain are detailed herein, along with the subterranean refuge of Skullport. Treasures and secrets abound, but tread with care!

House Rules
All character rolls will take place in front of the DM.
Any Races from the DnD Beyond Character Creator are allowable, so long as the DM agrees.
Spells/Feats out of the DnD Beyond site that currently all players have access to, no third party books.
Natural 20 is a Critical Hit/Success and Natural 1 is always a Critical Failure. The Critical success is max damage. The player has the option of critical confirmation. If the Critical Hit is confirmed, the Critical Hit deals double damage.
No Metagaming! Character must have the experience or successful skill check to accomplish the knowledge.
Generally discourage characters of Evil alignment and/or evil bent. Evil characters can be cooperative to achieve their goals, but murdering and stealing from other players is disruptive and creates animosity/angst amongst other players.
Provided that characters are not amidst battles between game sessions, are not in the middle of a dungeon delve, and resources are accessible, it is acceptable to craft/repair items between sessions. Great timing to create scrolls, potions, etc. GM notification and permission, in order to keep game balance.
Hero/Luck points will be awarded for milestones, extraordinary (successful) acts of heroism, and/or completion of key quests. Hero/Luck points, can be used as a reroll option (in the event of a failure), for attacks/savings throws.
Party Balance
This is the basic party balance. Differentiates between the defenders, damage, ranged damage, healers, buffers, and utilities. This makes me happy!
Daeris Teini - Tank/Damage

Hessys (NPC)- Damage/Utility
????? - Damage/Utility/Heals
