Fighting This Dragon is Such a Lich

After entering the keep, we start to explore a few of the rooms. After setting off a couple of traps and checking out a few rooms, we find and free a female Dragonborn fighter type with plate mail armor named Surina. Just down the hallway from the room imprisoning Surina, we find a doorway that opens onto a cliff face. We all tie our ropes together in order to lower us down to a large tunnel that comes off of the chasm. Toox grabs one end of the rope and starts to climb over to the tunnel opening and loses her grip. As she pendulums, she attempts to catch herself and dislocates both arms. She is pulled back up and healed, then tries again. She succeeds this time and ties the rope off in the tunnel entrance. The party climbs down the rope and gathers in the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, we run into a door protected with strong magic. The magic runes say that we must draw one card to be granted passage into the adjoining room. As each one of us draws a single card, we are forced to endure the results of the magic embedded within. Most us us are granted beneficial magics and magical weapons. However, As Toox was drawing several other cards, she drew one that turned a friend against her (NPC ally). Alain immediately attacked Toox and a battle ensued. Toox quickly eliminated Alain (honestly, it was like slaughtering a baby) and looted his corpse of all of his gear. As Alain's corpse was tossed over the cliff's edge, Akta begins to pull cards from the deck. After many card pulls, Akta summons several NPC allies and then summons a Dread Wraith that immediately attacks her. Akta is almost immediately destroyed with absolutely no chance of resurrection or recovery (even a wish or miracle will fail). With two party members down and the party through the doorway, we enter combat with the Dracolich. The battle is intense. Toox drops a stalactite on the Dracolich and each party member is a bloody mess by the time battle has concluded. With the Dracolich destroyed, we find the phylactery and begin the trek back to the Ancient Red Dragon. Along the way we run across another person, Morgran, a Dwarven Weaponmaster, that we invite to join the party.
