*** After a nasty escape from the Svarte Helvete raider camp (caused from an ambush from a large evil humanoid creature that everyone is calling the demon), our heroes escape to another village (the Skald Snorri's home), and discern that they need to vanquish this evil demon giant plaguing the area. Snorri suggests that the heroes loot the mansion/tower of an retired/decrepit evil old mage. He said that the Mage has a trove of magical weapons/equipment that will help in taking down the Demon's incursions. But the Mage had some surprises guarding his stash (Minotaur). ***

Talus has joined our party. As we celebrate our victory in gaining the magic item from the evil wizard, we are attacked by the Grendel (giant ogre). As we are about to slay the foul beast, he escapes back through the flames. After we finish healing up, we run off in search of the other fire outside of camp. We found the ashes of the fire about 100' out of town and tracked the monster into the swamp. At the edge of the swamp, we hear a cry for help and Talus swims out to rescue what he thought was a drowning girl, only to be attacked by a Drowned Maiden and almost killed. After a lengthy battle, Everise begs her to stop attacking, which, surprisingly, she does. She made us pledge to kill the witch who had killed her, before she would let us live. We promised to kill the witch and continue our pursuit. Several miles into the swamp we are attacked by vines that drop from the canopy of trees. They are very hard to hit. It took a long time to kill the beast but finally we brought the vine beast down.
